Every morning as I sit at my desk, I take pleasure in glancing at the sea through the window. When I walk with my husband, down the street, which runs parallel to the beach, the sea looks calm and blue and inviting. We pass many paths that run towards the beach. I look longingly down these paths and wonder how many of them go down to the beach. Most of these paths are broad and beautiful and well-maintained and I like to imagine walking down one of them right down to the beach, to the very edge of the water. Unfortunately none of these paths lead down to the beach but at the end of each path is a private property-someone's home, and the path ends there. However, there is one narrow, and difficult path that does lead right down to the beach.
Since the time sin seperated man from God, man's heart has been seeking for spiritual fulfilment. All of creation reveal to us the glory of the Almighty God, like the view of the sea through my window. The faithfulness of the loving God is made manifest every morning with the rising sun. But then, there is only one way to reach the Father heart of God. All other paths will lead us to a blind end-to personalities and not to God. There is only one person through whom our relationship with our Creator can be restored. 2000 years ago, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to make a pathway from Heaven to earth and from earth to Heaven. Now we have access to our Heavenly home.
John 14:1-6 (NKJV)
1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
4 And where I go you know, and the way you know."
5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?"
6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
