Confidence

Confidence means placing my trust and reliance on a real foundation, having full assurance and boldness through faith.

For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,  Philippians 3:3 (NKJV)

It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man.  It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes.   Psalm 118:8-9 (NKJV)

By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation, You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, And of the far-off seas;   Psalm 65:5 (NKJV)

being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;   Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,   Hebrews 3:14 (NKJV)

For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.   Proverbs 3:26 (NKJV)

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.      1 John 5:14 (NKJV)

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.   Hebrews 10:35 (NKJV)

but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.   Hebrews 3:6 (NKJV)

For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not,    Isaiah 30:15 (NKJV)

And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.   1 John 2:28 (NKJV)

AFFIRMATION OF MY CONFIDENCE

I have no confidence in the flesh, and I do not put confidence in man or in Princes, but in the God of our Salvation, Who is The Confidence of All the Ends of The earth. I am confident that He Who has begun a good work in me and others, will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. I have become a partaker of Christ by holding the beginning of my confidence steadfast to the end. Thus I walk this life, for the Lord will be my confidence, and will keep my foot from being caught. Now, this is the confidence that I have in Him, that if I ask anything according to His will, He hears me. Therefore I do not cast away my confidence, which has great reward, but endure in doing the will of God so that I may receive the promise. As I hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end, I return to Him and rest, and am quiet and confident and strong. Thus abiding in Him, I will not be ashamed, but confident before Him at His appearing.

I am confident in CHRIST.

Where is your confidence?

Spiritual Warfare - 4

Finding My Position With God

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 (NKJV)

It is important for me to move till I come to God’s side. Then I know GOD is for me.

*I need to turn away from my waywardness.

Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.  Isaiah 55:6-7 (NKJV)

*I need to turn away from my worldly and covetous ways.

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”  Hebrews 13:5-6 (NKJV)

*I need to turn from my pride and humble myself. Very often, we search for GOD and are unable to find Him because we are standing in pride, on a high platform. Unless we come down, we cannot receive His grace. Unless we receive His grace, we cannot see Him. As we humble ourselves before the Lord and submit to Him, we are positioning ourselves in line with GOD who is on the throne. This is the place of victory.

Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD.  Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NKJV)

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.  Isaiah 57:15 (NKJV)

Practical steps of humbling myself before God:-

1) Understand from the word and acknowledge the greatness of God.

The acts of praising God, exalting Him and thanking Him in every situation move me towards the right relationship with God.

2) Understand and acknowledge my fallen nature, weaknesses and unworthiness.

O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”   Psalm 16:2 (NKJV)

O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?  Romans 7:24 (NKJV)

3) Humble myself and gratefully receive the grace of God which is the only way to connect with Him.

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”  James 4:6 (NKJV)

*I need to take my right standing with other people. The question is not whether I am for GOD, but whether
GOD is for me. When I fight against a brother or sister for GOD, I am unknowingly taking my place against GOD.

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  1 Peter 5:5-10 (NKJV)
