Taking my stand in the world
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV)
And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
We cannot go to war with bags and baggage. A desire for position and possessions brings forth conceit, provocation, and envy.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:26 (NKJV).
We are able to enjoy the possessions and positions God gives us when we acknowledge them as His gifts, using them for God's glory and for the blessing of others and live thanking God with a grateful heart.
We should also be willing to let go any earthly possession and position in obedience to the Lord.
- Praising God and worshiping God brings me to God’s side.
- By submitting to authority and taking my responsibility within the area of authority in obedience to the word of God, I position myself in the world spiritually.
- Now I stand in victory.
- From this position I intercede for others.
- I teach others the way of victory.
