Leave the Leaven and Heave to Heaven
You shall eat nothing leavened;
in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread.' "
Exodus 12:20
Leaven is symbolic of sin.
Just like the spread of leaven through the lump of dough,
is the influence of sin.
Before leaving Egypt, which depicts the bondage of sin,
the children of Israel were commanded to keep the passover.
During this time they had to eat unleavened bread,
and they had to clear their homes of all leaven.
Then Jesus said to them,
"Take heed and beware of the leaven
of the Pharisees and the Sadducees."
Matthew 16:6
The leaven the LORD spoke of
was the deviant doctrine of
the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Another parable He spoke to them:
"The kingdom of heaven is like leaven,
which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal
till it was all leavened."
Matthew 13:33
The leaven mentioned here is
the spread of the positive influence of
the Kingdom of GOD -
from the spirit to the soul and to the body.
from the spirit to the soul and to the body.
Your glorying is not good.
Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
Therefore purge out the old leaven,
that you may be a new lump,
since you truly are unleavened.
For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven,
nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness,
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
"Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them:
'When you come into the land to which I bring you,
then it will be, when you eat of the bread of the land,
that you shall offer up a heave offering to the Lord.
You shall offer up a cake of the first of your ground meal as a heave offering;
as a heave offering of the threshing floor,
so shall you offer it up.
Of the first of your ground meal you shall give to the Lord
a heave offering throughout your generations.
Numbers 15:17-21
I will lift up my eyes to the hills-
- From whence comes my help?

Now when these things begin to happen,
look up and lift up your heads,
because your redemption draws near."

Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
Psalm 63:3-4
Your watchmen shall lift up their voices,
With their voices they shall sing together;
For they shall see eye to eye
When the Lord brings back Zion.
Break forth into joy, sing together,
You waste places of Jerusalem!
For the Lord has comforted His people,
He has redeemed Jerusalem.
Isaiah 52:8-9
To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
Psalm 25:1
Let us search out and examine our ways,
And turn back to the Lord;

Heave means 'Lift Up'.
The Heave offering
is a free-will offering unto the LORD.
In the Scriptures we are asked to
'Lift Up' our Eyes, our head, our hands
our voice, our soul and our heart to the LORD!
- From whence comes my help?
