Do You Swim?

Do You Swim?

If you do not know how to swim, your life will be in danger in water.
You will be in danger of drowning in the water because you are not made to live and breathe in water. Your lungs are fashioned to breathe oxygen from air, not from water like the fish. Fish have gills that are able to draw the needed oxygen from water. Fish cannot survive long out of water.

One of the important things a swimmer is taught is to bring his face out of the water regularly so that he might breathe. If he takes a breath while his face is in the water, his lungs can fill with water causing him to drown.

Since we are not of the world, we should not breathe in the spirit of this world. If we do, we will be in danger of dying spiritually, drowning in the water of worldliness.

Let us therefore train ourselves to regularly breathe in the Spirit of GOD while on this earth, so that we might live a victorious spiritual life, overcoming the world.

Like the swimmer who makes sure his lungs are filled with air and not with water, let us make sure our hearts are filled with the Holy Spirit and not with the spirit of this world.

Let us constantly connect with GOD and breathe in the breath of life and be spiritually alive as the world gets increasingly flooded with the spirit of worldliness.

Let us keep breathing and pray without ceasing!

 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world,
but the Spirit who is from God,
 that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

1 Corinthians 2:12

I have given them Your word;
and the world has hated them because they are not of the world,
 just as I am not of the world.
  I do not pray that You should take them out of the world,
but that You should keep them from the evil one.
  They are not of the world,
 just as I am not of the world.
John 17:14-16

 Do not love the world or the things in the world.
 If anyone loves the world,
the love of the Father is not in him.
  For all that is in the world-
-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
 and the pride of life-
-is not of the Father but is of the world.
  And the world is passing away, and the lust of it;
 but he who does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 2:15-17

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare,
 and into many foolish and harmful lusts
which drown men in destruction and perdition.
1 Timothy 6:9

 Rejoice always,
  pray without ceasing,
  in everything give thanks;
 for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
  Do not quench the Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
