Covid 19 and Fallen Mankind

COVID 19 and Fallen Mankind

The following picture, indicating the happenings in the spiritual realm, came to me one morning.

Coronavirus is a physical disease and it is infectious. Sin is a spiritual disease and it is infectious!

The coronavirus infected more than two million people, yet millions of individuals have not been infected. In the case of sin, every one of us has been infected!

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23

Speaking about your relationships with others, you can find yourself in one or more of the following situations naturally and spiritually

1) You are tested coronavirus positive and you are passing on the infection to others. You are coughing, sneezing and spitting openly without any concern for others and spreading the infection around.

Ignorant or careless of your sinful nature, you are being used as a tool of the devil to spread hatred, violence, lies, hurt and injury through your wrong attitudes, words and actions.

2) You may be one who is fearful thinking that you may be carrying the virus and so hiding from others, because you don't want to go through the process of diagnosis and treatment. You would rather isolate yourself.

Recognising your weaknesses, you are ashamed of your sins and you are isolating yourself. You are cutting off relationship with family members, and your friendships, if at all, are shallow. You are fearful of exposing yourself because of the guilt of sin inside. You are living in darkness. Your world is dark. You are living in fear of people, oppressed by the devil. You want to be careful where you go because you want to avoid people, especially those who know you. You measure your words as you are scared of exposing your mind and heart to others.

This self isolation is a sad and lonely prison to be in. The devil has put you there and desires to keep you there. You are simply existing day after day, finding ways of covering yourself with a black blanket, even when no one is looking at you!

3) You are not infected by the virus and you are carefree, walking around without taking any protective measures. On the other hand you may have recovered well from the coronavirus infection and so you believe you can never be infected again. You don't realise you are prone to be infected even the second time!

You are not conscious of your fallen nature and don't realise that you are a sinner needing a Saviour. Or else, you are a Christian and your deceptive thinking is that you can never fall away. You don't realise that the sin nature in you is still able to catch the sin of anger, hatred, pride, covetousness, carnality and selfishness you see and encounter in others. These, if not repented of, can lead you to eternal death!

Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. O my soul, you have said to the Lord, "You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You."
Psalm 16:1-2

You need to abide in CHRIST to be protected and preserved!

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
John 15:5

4) You are not infected by the virus and you are taking all the precautionary measures to protect yourself from the infection. It is right that you are aware of your vulnerability to get infected through those around you who may be carrying the virus in their system.

Your only goal on earth is to become holy so you can escape hell and get to Heaven! It is a good goal, but it is a selfish one. You are bound to fail the 'sin test' at Heaven's Port because selfishness is sin! GOD'S law is the law of love.

Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
Matthew 22:37-40

You are like the priest and the Levite who passed by on the other side when they saw the man lying on the road robbed and beaten up. They only glanced at the injured man. They practised social distancing effectively! They could not think of getting themselves dirty, soiled or infected. Besides, they had to legalistically perform their temple duties to justify themselves before GOD and man!

5) You are a health worker and are committed to caring for those who are sick, including those who are afflicted by the deadly coronavirus. You are diligently taking all the precautionary measures and are putting on the protective garments, mask, gloves and so on to protect yourself from the infection. With compassion, you are doing your best for the patients in your care.

If you are not a health worker, you are praying fervently for those affected by the virus, those who have lost their dear ones and those in varying kinds of need. You are connecting with people through social media and the internet to bring hope and encouragement. You are reaching out to people with whatever practical help you are able to give.

You are like the 'Good Samaritan' the LORD JESUS commended for His compassion and practical help. Well done! Keep up the good works! GOD is pleased with you!

"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.' Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?'Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
Matthew 25:31-46

6) You are one who were infected by the coronavirus and suffered the illness, but now you have recovered well! Your body was able to produce sufficient antibodies to fight and overcome the infection. Your blood has this precious specific antibodies for coronavirus that saved your life and can save someone else's life!

All of us were born in sin and condemned spiritually. We were all heading towards hell. But GOD so loved the people of the world that He sent His only begotten Son, JESUS, to pay the price of sin on the cruel cross and offer forgiveness to all of mankind. Now you have believed in Him, repented of your sin and received His forgiveness. You are not living in condemned anymore, since you are justified before the Almighty GOD! The blood of JESUS CHRIST cleanses you from all sin like the antibodies! You are living a victorious Christian life with the power of His resurrection!

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Romans 8:11

Since you have experienced this great salvation, your life is a reflection of GOD'S love. you want to take every opportunity to pass on this message of hope to all those struggling with the effects of sin.

The Great Separation! But as the days of Noah were...

The Great Separation!
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Matthew 24:37

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Matthew 24:36-44

This great separation is imminent. In fact it is very near!

The ark is completed. The animals are walking into the ark.

There are glimpses of the overwhelming flood waters in the world.

Can you perceive this picture with your spiritual eyes?

The current shut-down and shut-in situation with covid-19 has affected the whole world in some way. The life style of each individual has changed.

Has your life changed for the better or for the worse?

Are you heading towards the ark or are you making yourself comfortable in the waters of worldliness?

And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die. But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark--you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them." Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.
Genesis 6:17-22

Noah found grace in the eyes of GOD. If we have found favour in the eyes of GOD, we must graciously extend the invitation of salvation to others.

GOD gave him precise instruction to build an ark. Noah obeyed GOD.

GOD gives us precise instruction to live a Godly life. We need to obey Him.

Noah was asked to take food for himself, his family  and for all the living things that would enter the ark.

We need to diligently study the word of GOD to feed our souls and also to feed others.

..two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as
God had commanded Noah. Genesis 7:9

There was suitable food for all the different kinds of living things, stored in the ark. It may have been the instinct to be attracted to food that drew the living creatures into the ark.

This season, the internet and social media are being used as never before.

There is much good spiritual food that reaches people of all nations through the internet. There is suitable food for the old and for the young coming from different spiritual and social background. There is suitable spiritual food for the new believers, spiritually young and mature Christians. It is also like a spiritual net that can catch the fish of the sea, that is, the people of the world who need to come into the Kingdom of GOD. As believers, we should be casting such nets and be fishers of men.

The devil also uses many people as his tools to put in much carnal material, wicked and evil images that fill the minds of individuals, drawing them into sin and destruction. People can be ensnared into pornography, gambling, listening to and watching unedifying programs and greedy online purchases.

I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness.
Psalm 101:3-4

He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still."Revelation 22:11

It is necessary for us to carefully pick the right programs to watch and be disciplined with the use of the internet and social media.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:7-10

For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth
forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth
all living things that I have made."
And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the flood
were on the earth.
Genesis 7:4,10

After all the living creatures, animals and Noah and family entered the ark, it was seven days before the rains came down. GOD in His gracious compassion, gave the people outside the ark, a grace period of seven days to respond to the invitation to enter the ark.
After the seven day period of grace, the LORD shut the door of the ark. All those inside were shut-in.
There was no going in nor coming out.
Does it sound familiar?

So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in.
Genesis 7:16

Suddenly we will be shut in wherever we are - Shut in with someone or alone.
We will be also shut out of some place.

My husband and I were visiting Singapore from Perth, Western Australia when the covid 19 shut downs began. Flights into Perth were cancelled and we were flown to Sydney, in the east. We were put into the Hilton hotel for two weeks of quarantine. We were inside the hotel room, shut in for 14 days! No windows to open and no stepping outside the door! We were grateful the LORD was with us and we had each other for company!

The LORD prepared a lovely apartment for us through a relative to move into after the 14 days. The LORD prepared the heart of the owner to furnish the apartment and get it ready for us. She was also prompted to give it for our use indefinitely, free of rent!!

We have been in this place for 11 days now. We are comfortable and our food and all necessities have been taken care of. We thank GOD for that!

We are shut out of our home as the borders of Western Australia are still closed! It is clear to us that GOD has placed us here for a season with a purpose

 #############

This is that period of grace the Almighty and gracious GOD has given to us. Each one of us has to make that important decision to either follow GOD or to follow the world. To seek after Godliness or worldliness.

When the time comes, will we be found safely shut inside the ark or will we be shut out, drowning in the flood of worldliness and wickedness, heading for eternal destruction?

If you have been shut in or shut out, know that there is a purpose for this season.
It is a good opportunity for you to seek GOD with all your heart.

If you are a Christian, seek to draw closer to the LORD JESUS.
If you are not a believer in the LORD JESUS, call on His name.
He desires to have a relationship with you.
He wants you to become a child of the Most High GOD;
The GOD Who is the Creator and the Sustainer of the universe and everything that is in it.
He created you. He loves you.

But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
Isaiah 43:1-3

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
Jeremiah 31:3

'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'
Jeremiah 33:3

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-13

ENDURANCE

ENDURANCE
Once we have found our rightful place in relation to the LORD,
others, the world and the devil, we have to stand firm until the
end.
Endurance manifests in Faith, Love and Patience.
Faith in GOD within ourselves Love for the LORD, Patience
with others.
Evangelize the world, resist the devil.
It is our responsibility to make decisions, to discipline
ourselves and to be determined to follow This path.
When we follow the path of obedience to God’s word, He
strengthens us with His Holy Spirit.

How to endure?
By looking to JESUS - The Author and the Finisher of
our faith.
By considering JESUS - not becoming weary or
discouraged in our soul.
Through patience.

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great
a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and
the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with
endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto
Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the
joy that was set before Him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and has sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who
endured such hostility from sinners against Himself,
lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls."
- Hebrews 12:1-3

Like Moses:-

"By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the
king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible."
- Hebrews 11:27

Why endure?
For the sake of the elect

"Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the
elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in
Christ Jesus with eternal glory." - 2 Timothy 2:10

How long to endure?
To the end of my life on earth.

""But he who endures to the end shall be saved."
- Matthew 24:13

What to endure?
The Cross - shame, hostility from sinners, hardship,
afflictions, persecution, hatred from all men, temptation,
all things

"You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier
of Jesus Christ." - 2 Timothy 2:3

"And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled,
we bless; being persecuted, we endure;"
- 1 Corinthians 4:12

"But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of
life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance,
persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at
Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra--what persecutions I
endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes,
and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer
persecution." - 2 Timothy 3:10-12

"Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when
he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life
which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."
- James 1:12

What to endure in?
Faith in CHRIST- not fall away from the faith
Keep the first love for JESUS - not soulish.
Loving others - not hating even our enemies.
As an intercessor (Like JESUS, Stephen) - not become an
accuser.
Resisting the devil - not give him a foothold.
Growing in CHRIST - not ageing.
Being fruitful - not barren, being weary and discouraged
in our soul.
Trusting the LORD - Not man or the worldly systems.
Grace - not legalistic nor insulting the grace of GOD.
The Word of GOD - not deviate to fables
Spiritual mind - not carnal mind.
Sound doctrine - for myself and to teach others.
Denying self - not denying the LORD.
Humble - not prideful.
Attribute all glory to GOD - not self glory.
Evangelising - not be ashamed of Him
Fulfilling our ministry - not forsake it.
Doing the will of GOD - not my will.
Keep within GOD’S boundary set for us - not go beyond.

""yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for
a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises
because of the word, immediately he stumbles."
- Matthew 13:21

"I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus
Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His
appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in
season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with
all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come
when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according
to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they
will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn
their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to
fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions,
do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
... for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present
world, and has departed for Thessalonica--Crescens for
Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia." - 2 Timothy 4:1-5, 10

What is the result of endurance?
Receiving GOD’S promises.
Salvation of the soul.
Reign with Him.
will be Blessed.
crown of life

""And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he
who endures to the end will be saved." - Matthew 10:22

"For you have need of endurance, so that after you
have done the will of God, you may receive the
promise:" - Hebrews 10:36

"And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained
the promise." - Hebrews 6:15

"If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we
deny Him, He also will deny us." - 2 Timothy 2:12

"Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have
heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end
intended by the Lord--that the Lord is very
compassionate and merciful." - James 5:11

"Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when
he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life
which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."
- James 1:12

What (Who) endures forever?
The LORD
His mercy
His name
His Truth
Spiritual Food
The word of the LORD
The fear of the LORD
Enduring possession
Kingdom work - built with gold, silver and precious stones

His throne for judgment." - Psalm 9:7

"His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue
as long as the sun. And men shall be blessed in Him; All
nations shall call Him blessed." - Psalm 72:17

"For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His
truth endures to all generations." - Psalm 100:5

mercy endures forever." - Psalm 136:1

food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son
of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His
seal on Him."" - John 6:27

accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you
have a better and an enduring possession for
yourselves in heaven." - Hebrews 10:34

he will receive a reward." - 1 Corinthians 3:14

endures all things." - 1 Corinthians 13:7
