Where are you Staying?
The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them,
"What do you seek?" They said to Him,
"Rabbi" (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), "where are You staying?"
He said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where He was staying,
and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).
John 1:37-39
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
"I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Isaiah 57:15
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh,
but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 8:5-6
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on things above,
not on things on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1-3
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
Trust in the Lord forever,
For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.
Isaiah 26:3-4
And he said to her, "Give me your son." So he took him out of her arms and carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his own bed.
1 Kings 17:19
1 Kings 17:19
Please, let us make a small upper room on the wall; and let us put a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand; so it will be, whenever he comes to us, he can turn in there."
And it happened one day that he came there, and he turned in to the upper room and lay down there.
...
When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.
And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, shut the door upon him, and went out.
Then she called to her husband, and said, "Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come back."
2 Kings 4:10-11, 20-22
2 Kings 4:10-11, 20-22
Where does your mind dwell through the day?
Does your mind dwell on carnal things or on spiritual things?
Is your heart humble, contrite and submissive to the Holy Spirit so that the Almighty GOD can dwell in the upper room of your mind?
Have you made a small upper room - set some time aside to seek the LORD in the upper room of your spiritual mind?
Do you furnish your upper room suitably - giving priority and time for spiritual fellowship and edification with the brethren?
As you carry the needs of others to the upper room of your spiritual mind and intercede like Elijah and Elisha, you will see spiritual life manifested in them.
The GOD of Heaven came down to dwell among us and made a way for us to dwell with Him in Heaven one day. In the meantime let us make space for Him not only in our heart, but also in the upper room of our mind and let Him rule from the highest place of our life.
Let us submit not only our spirit, but also our soul, that is our mind - intellect, emotion and will and also our bodies to Him.
That is true worship!
